Vejlevī'lə, city (1992 pop. 46,074), capital of Vejle co., central Denmark, a seaport at the head of the Vejle Fjord. It is a commercial and industrial center and a rail junction. Manufactures include textiles, iron, hardware, canned goods, and leather goods. Of note in Vejle is St. Nicholas Church (13th cent.; restored).

Vejle is a town in Denmark and the site of the council of both Vejle Municipality and Region Syddanmark, located in southeast of Jutland Peninsula.
The city itself has a population of 50,654 and the Vejle Municipality has a population of 105,884.
The municipality is also a part of the East Jutland metropolitan area with 1,2 million inhabitants.
