Teanecktē'nĕk, residential township (1990 pop. 37,825), Bergen co., NE N.J., near the Hackensack River; settled in the early 1600s, inc. 1895. Jewelry, electrical equipment, and food seasonings are among its manufactures. A suburb in the New York City metropolitan region, Teaneck developed rapidly after the construction of the George Washington Bridge (1931). The Metropolitan Campus of Fairleigh Dickinson Univ. is there. The city has several 18th-century homes.

Teaneck (redirected from Teaneck) is a township in Bergen County, New Jersey and a suburb in the New York metropolitan area. As of the United States 2000 Census, the township population was 39,260, making it the second-most populous among the 70 municipalities in Bergen County. The Census Bureau's 2008 population estimate for the township was 38,662. Teaneck township, Bergen County, New Jersey, United States Census Bureau. Accessed July 27, 2009.
