Marshalltown, city (1990 pop. 25,178), seat of Marshall co., central Iowa, on the Iowa River; inc. 1863. It is the rail and trade center of a rich grain and livestock area. Among the city's varied manufactures are plastic, rubber, and metal products; paints; machinery; seeds; shipping containers; and furnaces. The Iowa Veterans' Home is there.

Marshalltown (redirected from Marshalltown) is a city in Marshall County, Iowa, United States. It is the county seat of Marshall County and the home of Marshalltown Community College. The population was 26,009 at the 2000 census. Founded in 1853 by Henry Anson , it was named after Marshall, Michigan. Because a Marshall, Iowa already existed, the town was named Marshalltown. Marshalltown is located at .
