Bayamónbäyämōn', city (1990 pop. 202,103), NE Puerto Rico, a residential, commercial, and industrial city. Founded in 1772, it is one of the oldest settlements on the island. It produces foods, metals, clothing, pharmaceuticals, and automotive parts.

Bayamón (redirected from Bayamón) is a municipality of Puerto Rico located on the northern coastal valley, north of Aguas Buenas and Comerío; south of Toa Baja and Cataño; west of Guaynabo; and east of Toa Alta and Naranjito. Bayamón is spread over 11 wards and Bayamón Pueblo. It is part of the San Juan-Caguas-Guaynabo Metropolitan Statistical Area. Bayamón is sometimes called "El Pueblo del Chicharrón" and "Ciudad del Tapón" because of the constant traffic jams that plague the city.
